Bulgarian Lavender: a soft place to start

Bulgarian Lavender puts flowers first, with a gentle herbal layer. It is our suggestion when you want a softer lavender scent. This organic Lavandula angustifolia oil comes from Bulgaria.
Choose it for a floral sauna round, or try it as a separate scent after a round with citrus or pine. You do not need to blend several oils to find your favourite.

French Lavender: classic flowers and distinct herbs

Aromen’s French Lavender comes from Provence. Soft flowers meet a distinct herbal scent, for anyone who enjoys classic lavender with more herbal character.
Is French Lavender sold out? Consider Bulgarian Lavender for a softer floral scent or Lavandin Super for a fresher herbal profile. Each has its own character; they are alternatives rather than identical scents.

Lavandin Super: flowers with a fresher edge

Lavandin Super combines herbs and flowers with a light camphorous edge. Choose it when you want a fresher, more distinct scent than soft Bulgarian Lavender.
It can be a good starting point if you usually prefer eucalyptus or other fresh oils and want to explore a floral direction.

What is the difference between lavender and lavandin?
Lavandin is a cross between true lavender and spike lavender. When choosing an oil, the scent difference is especially useful: Lavandin Super has a fresher, more camphorous edge, while Bulgarian Lavender has a softer floral profile. The names therefore mean more than different countries of origin.
How do I use lavender oil in the sauna?
Follow Aromen’s instructions for the individual oil, the stove instructions and the rules of the sauna. Essential oils do not form a stable solution in water. Never pour concentrated essential oil directly onto hot stones.
Try one oil at a time, following its directions. This makes it easier to recognise the differences between scents. Use the amount specified by the supplier for that product; there is no single drop count here intended to suit every oil and sauna.
Read our guide to using essential oils in the sauna.
Is organic lavender oil a ready-to-use sauna fragrance?
No. These bottles contain essential oil and must be used according to the instructions for each product. “Organic” describes the product’s organic status; it does not mean the oil can be used undiluted or in larger amounts.
