About løyly.
A breathing space in everyday life
løyly grew from a simple need: to create a breathing space in everyday life – and a good reason to slow down. The name has roots in the Finnish löyly, a word closely tied to the steam, heat and spirit created when water meets hot sauna stones. We have given the name a Norwegian form and an identity shaped by life here – between fjord, rain, wood stove and fast-moving days.
løyly is the moment when the heat hits, your shoulders drop and the world becomes a little simpler for a while.
Løyly – roots and craftsmanship
The felt for Løyly's hats is made from 100% Norwegian wool at Sjølingstad Uldvarefabrikk. From there, it is sent to Upscale AS in Sandane, which sews all our hats. This gives us a traceable Norwegian production chain – from wool to finished sauna hat.
Our sauna vision
Løyly began with hats, but what we are really building is a small online store for people who genuinely love sauna. You can already find essential oils and equipment we use ourselves, and over time we will add a small number of carefully selected ‘sauna essentials’. We want løyly. to feel like a small community of people who take sauna seriously – and who know that a good session offers more than heat.
