Looking for a bargain? Perhaps you simply want to try a sauna hat without spending too much. Either way, this is a more sustainable way to buy one of our hats that did not quite meet our usual standard. Every hat is still made from 100% Norwegian wool felt and is perfectly usable for sauna and ice bathing.
What is a factory second?
It may be a hat made from a layer of felt that is too thin, with uneven stitching, or with more visible natural fibres than usual, which can look like small pieces of debris in the wool. We set aside items with these characteristics as factory seconds and do not sell them at full price.
Why buy a factory second?
Løyly makes premium products to a very high standard, but throwing away these otherwise good items goes against our commitment to sustainability throughout the process. Rather than leaving them to gather dust or discarding them as waste, we want to give our customers the chance to pick up a sauna hat at a bargain price.
